Well, it has been almost four months since my last post on The Liberty Ticker.
To explain my absence, the biggest factor is that I am now writing for Independent Political Report. While I am a Republican and support Republican candidates, in races with unimpressive candidates I am willing to support third party candidates. Beyond that, I find third party politics a particularly volatile and interesting arena to cover.
Nevertheless, my material at IPR follows a certain theme; namely, that postings must concern third party politics. I do plan to branch out from this thme, so I will begin reposting articles here on The Liberty Ticker.
I have two independent articles and one series of articles on its way. The two Independent articles should arrive in ~ 1 week within days of each other. One will be investigative, testing the claims that the Tea Party is an 'astroturf' movement. The second will be an editorial on why one should be willing to spoil their votes on third party candidates.
After this pair of articles (which I am working on for another publication), I will start a new series. In it, I will profile potential 'liberty candidates' in 2012 for President. Some of these may or may not be up to par for some activists, and I will investigate the credentials and the electability of each potential candidate. Among those I plan to profile are Ron Paul, Gary Johnson, Chris Christie, Mitch Daniels, Jesse Ventura, Nikki Haley, and Jim Demint.
There will likely be delays between articles in this series, as my IPR reporting will have to heat up with elections approaching. Nevertheless, keep an eye out for a new stream of articles here at The Liberty Ticker!
